This song was originally intended for Coldplay’s Chris Martin to sing with Johnny Cash, but Cash died before they were able to do so. The song is is a hidden track on the album, X&Y.  It is listed as “+” on the disc label and inside the album booklet.

So wraps up this “Who Do You Love” blog series.  It started with a journey… a humble young girl and her few possessions riding on a donkey into the new world of motherhood.  It ends with a journey too…the Magi, wealthy men of science and their entourage following a star toward a new king.

And when the wise men got to where they were going, they found Mary and her baby boy, and “they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.” (Matthew 2:1-12)

If you read the whole story you will find that the arrival of the Magi started a mess of trouble with the local authorities, the basis of the argument being, who is your king? It’s a question we all have to answer at some point, and a question I hope this series leaves you with, too.  I hope it’s a question that pesters you this year…like a mysterious little “+” sign on an album booklet.
